8. Melanie Hawkins Comes Back With A Vengeance
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has seen its fair share of memorable antagonists. Characters like Seamus Murphy, Jimmy Figgis and Commissioner Kelly have all played some fantastic villains against our loveable Nine-Nine. Still, one of the most formidable - and cool - has to be Melanie Hawkins.
While dealing with criminals is always fun, watching Rosa and Jake take down a dirty cop was easily a highlight for the series, and one of the best narratives in the show. Although this story - which saw Jake and Rosa imprisoned before finally besting their foe - ended quite nicely, there is still a lot of potential in watching Hawkins come back to seek revenge on those who put her away.
Seeing this character transition from a crooked cop to a downright criminal would be incredibly satisfying, and could give the Nine-Nine one of their greatest challenges yet.
Gina Gershon's performance in this part was fantastic, and the eighth season needs some bombastic episodes to feel important, so bringing her back for one last dangerous hurrah before the climax of the show would be thoroughly appreciated.
