Brooklyn Nine-Nine: 10 Things You Completely Missed From Season One
1. Rosa's Sexuality Was Implied Early On
Rosa Diaz is so secretive, Jake Peralta said he only knows three things about her even though he's her best friend. She's so adamant about people not learning where she lives, she moved house when Amy crashed at her place.
Of course, there is nothing Rosa is more secretive about than her love life. That's why it was such a milestone in the 99th episode (deservingly called "99"), when Rosa declared she was bisexual. Although her sexuality was implied a handful of times, this was the moment where Rosa officially came out. Shortly after, she revealed she was bi to the precinct, giving them 60 seconds to ask her questions about her sexuality before never talking about it openly ever again.
However, there were hints Rosa was bisexual in the first season. In the fifth episode, Peralta references how Tonya Harding is hot. Rosa agrees, saying the former figure skater is "thick". At the time, it sounded like Rosa was simply making an innocuous observation. But when you look at this scene again and know how Rosa feels about women, this off-the-cuff comment leaves a much deeper impact.
