Brooklyn Nine-Nine: 10 TV Characters Who Would Make A Great Assistant To Captain Holt
4. Charlie Kelly
Not all dysfunctional families are actually family. While the gang on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia might not all be related, but they fight like they are. Somehow, the Paddy's Pub gang are an even worse group of people than the Bluths. Every season of It's Always has to top the one before it in abject awfulness.
All five main characters are terrible, terrible people.
Charlie Kelly might be the nicest of the bunch, keeping in mind that he's also a stalker who beats rats to death with a bat and drinks paint. Yet he's still the nicest one out of all of them. Nothing screams effective assistant like applicant continually committing inventive crimes and having a long standing gasoline huffing hobby.
The biggest issue with hiring Charlie isn't even the fact that he's an unrepentant criminal who cannot read or write. Holt would probably enjoy helping Charlie change his life. The problem is that it would be nearly impossible to convince Charlie to leave Philadelphia for a job in New York.
