Brooklyn Nine-Nine: 10 Worst Characters Who Appeared After Season 1
1. Debbie Fogle
Just edging out Trudy Judy by the slightest of margins, Debbie Fogle might be one of the worst characters in any plot from any medium, from any era, from any universe. She's despicable, unhinged, loathsome and every other synonym in the thesaurus for bad. There's no justification for anything she does, but more importantly, there's no reason for her existence in the show whatsoever.
Seamlessly entering the fray in the culminating season with seemingly no introduction, the rookie cop is paired up with a demoted Raymond Holt. At first she seems fairly innocuous, almost like a delicate flower at times, but even then she's just useless. The jokes she spouts off fail to land every single time, and she puts more people in danger than she helps. Debbie even goes as far as to keep her mother, as well as two officers, hostage for a contrived reason that makes you wonder how she became a police officer in the first place.
Honestly, it's hard to dispute any other character being crowned the worst of the worst from Brooklyn Nine-Nine when Debbie exists. It seems like the writers were trying to make a conscious decision to create a character who the audience are supposed to care for when she willingly puts herself into dire situations. But that's the primary issue. SHE puts herself into situations when there's absolutely no rapport with the villain, nor any viable reason to become part of the predicament.
