Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

4. Amy Santiago

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Amy Santiago
NBC

Like all the best characters in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the reason Amy Santiago works so well is because she's so honestly herself. She doesn't hide her intelligence or awkwardness; she's never majorly embarrassed by her life choices, and to top it off she's a phenomenal police officer.

Amy is career driven and loyal to the force, at first a bit of a romantic disaster before falling in love with Jake and becoming one half of the best couple on TV. It could be argued that her relationship with Jake sits at the core of the show's main plot, since it forms the basis of the show even before they get together.

Then there's her mentor relationship with Captain Holt, the role model she always wanted and learned from massively over the course of the show.

But Amy is more than her relationships. She's a strong, independent woman, a badass detective unafraid to show off her softer side, and has had one of the best character arcs on the entire show. It doesn't get much better than that...
