Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

6. Charles Boyle

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Amy Santiago
Fox

On a show made up of increasingly bizarre characters, Charles Boyle might just be the weirdest of them all. Clingy, off-putting, and over-the-top, he's acted as Jake's best friend since day one and is always on hand to bring some slapstick humour to the show.

Boyle is known for his odd family, obsession with pleasing Jake (and later Amy) and inability to act like a normal adult. He's also accident prone, professionally incompetent and unlucky, having been injured numerous times on the job.

But underneath his social issues and the fact that he's not "physically gifted," Boyle is also one of Brooklyn Nine-Nine's most consistently lovable goofballs. If you can get passed his unique oddities and endless love for food, his loyalty, work ethic and honesty speak volumes about just how cool he really is.

He may not be the sharpest knife in the draw, but Boyle is certainly one you'd want to have around in the big moments. The show wouldn't be the same without him.
