Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Halloween Heist RANKED!

6. Halloween IV (Season 4 Episode 5)

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Halloween Jake Peralta Captain Holt
NBC

One of the less memorable Halloween outings, Halloween IV is still a solid heist with plenty of ghoulish gags and spooky surprises, but doesn't quite match up to the plethora of twists and turns and memorable moments in other entries.

A triple tie-breaker between Jake, Amy, and Holt, the trio must compete to steal a fancy plaque that reads "The Ultimate Detective/Genius". Jake appears to win early on, publicly heisting the plaque having trapped the rest of the squad behind locked doors. But when his partner-in-crime Gina knocks her front teeth out when trying to rollerskate away from an angry Holt, the heist is reset.

As it turns out though, this was all part of Gina's plan to claim victory for herself, winning her appreciation from the squad and the modified title of Ultimate Human/Genius. It's a satisfying resolution, though somewhat predictable after the similar twist with Amy winning the heist in order to earn respect in the previous year's heist, making the episode feel slightly like a rehash.

If we were judging these episodes based purely on the quality of the Halloween decorations in the precinct, however, this one might just win. It's the perfect balance of spooky seasonal theming and cosy autumn aesthetic.
