Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Halloween Heist RANKED!

5. Cinco De Mayo (Season 6 Episode 16)

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Halloween Jake Peralta Captain Holt
NBC

You'd be forgiven for going into this episode thinking it would be a bit of a disappointment. It comes in the midst of Season 6, the most uneven season yet, and it moves the proceedings from the iconic Halloween setting to Cinco de Mayo, making it seem initially like more of an homage than a true heist. Surprisingly, however, this is an excellent episode with an intricately twisting plot, a bevy of laugh-out-loud moments, and some great character development.

Every character gets their time in the spotlight, and even Kevin gets involved. One particularly brilliant scene involves about a dozen double-crosses all playing out at once as every betrayal committed thus far is revealed. It's this sort of frenetic, fast-paced comedy that makes the Halloween Heists fan favourites, and this heist delivers that in spades.

But the real crown jewel in this year's heist is Terry's deserving double victory, which he achieves not only by winning the heist but also by passing his lieutenant's exam, transforming his nickname from "Sarge" to "Lieut" and giving viewers a surprising and uplifting piece of character development to top off all the chaos of the heist.
