Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a comedy series about police detectives. But like most shows by creator Michael Schur, it's a family drama disguised as a workplace comedy. And Jeffords, portrayed brilliantly by Terry Crews, is the protective father figure of the 99th precinct.

When we first meet Jeffords, he was taken off the field and made to work desk duty when he developed an intense fear of leaving his kids without a father. This led him to become depressed in the line of duty. He struggled to unload his firearm and become a danger to himself and society. However, there is no doubt, Terry is the strongest and funniest member of the precinct. He managed to overcome all his struggles and at the end he managed to become a lieutenant. He may be a strong man but he is also the most in touch with his emotions.

Several episodes of the show contain a running gag involving Terry’s love for yogurt. Although his love for yogurt and lavender is strong, his love for his detective family is stronger. Terry may love a lot of things, yet it is not clear if he loves quizzes as much as Amy do.
