Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode
8. The Cheese Man
Not a whole lot is known about the bald, bespectacled Cheese Man - is he a god, a magical construct or just the product of too much dairy before bed?
What we do know is that he is portrayed by David Wells and stars in the season four closer, Restless. Featuring independently in each of Giles, Willow, Xander and Buffy's primal prophecy dreams, the Cheese Man appears bearing and wearing slices of American processed cheese, offering words of wisdom that only seem to pertain to his lactose delights.
Technically speaking he is also in another episode - season seven's Storyteller - but we're not counting this, as his appearance is only for a split second and is composed of archive footage taken from Restless.
With his three piece suit and eccentric nature, the Cheese Man quickly became a fan favourite, even if nobody quite knows his purpose. According to Joss Whedon, he is simply the random and inexplicable element of the dreams, but we know better than that! Don't we?
"I wear the cheese. It does not wear me."
