Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One

6. Robin Wood

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Drusilla
The WB

Even after six seasons of superb characters, the writers still managed to add to the show's large roster of heroes by giving us Robin Wood, the new principal of Sunnydale High.

When Robin introduces himself in the opening episode of Season Seven, he comes across as a charming, well-spoken individual who's almost the exact opposite of Principal Synder. But like so many Buffy characters, there's more to Robin than meets the eye.

His mother, Nikki Wood, used to be a Slayer, and she was killed by a vampire when Robin was just a youngster. Parentless, Robin was then looked after by Nikki's Watcher and learned to fight against the forces of evil.

When he discovers Spike was the one who killed his mother, Robin goes hunting for revenge. This story arc comes to a climax in 'Lies My Parents Told Me', which is a standout episode in the final season. It's a great exploration of both characters with an exceptional final act.

Robin is one of the best aspects of the final season. He's the most likeable of the three principals and a pivotal character in Spike's journey.
