Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Funniest Episodes

1. Tabula Rasa (Season 6, Episode 8)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Gingerbread
Mutant Enemy

'Tabula Rasa' had its work cut out when it first debuted back in 2001. Following on from the truly sublime 'Once More, With Feeling' is no small task, and yet this episode manages to be every bit as enjoyable and much funnier overall.

Taking the tried-and-true plot device of having that sees its character undergoing group amnesia may seem like old hat, but leave it to the Buffy writers to spin a tired-old concept into pure comedy gold. Once again, one of Willow's spells backfires when she tries to make Tara forget about an argument they had over how much Willow is reliant on magic.

The result of which sees The Scooby Gang losing all sense of self in the face of an attack by a group of vampires that Spike owes a debt. Queue all manner of farcical hijinks, mismatched romantic pairings, mistaken parental boundaries and endlessly quotable dialogue that fans still recite verbatim to this day.

And whilst the laughs do come thick and fast in this much-loved episode, it all culminates in heartbreak as Tara decides enough is enough and breaks up with Willow, setting her on the dark path that she'd walk for the remainder of the season.
