Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Most Hated Episodes

Season four had so much potential and contained a few hidden gems but it felt like a whole new show trying to find its feet again since the "high school element" was now gone. Beer Bad is universally accepted as one of the worst and most pointless episodes of season four, even of all time.

Beer Bad was a very on-the-nose cautionary tale about the dangers of drinking. It made sense with Buffy starting college that an episode about an age-appropriate lesson would make an appearance along with the arcs of dealing with roommates, one night stands, etc. Unfortunately, it really didn't work.

The magic beer makes those who drink it turn into neanderthals. It's weird and mostly pointless. While it's amusing to see Buffy let her hair down and fully embrace the student lifestyle, it's frustrating to see her get involved with a crowd of horrible and unlikeable characters that she would never normally associate with.

Fans hated this episode because it didn't do anything. Yes, it put an end to the awful Parker saga but that wasn't enough of a redeeming feature to make up for the lazy writing, the boring, filler, low-stakes story and the irritating characterisation of Buffy.
