Certain Buffy fans would expect Dawn to be higher on this list, but she’s not as bad as some would have you believe.

Of course, there's no getting away from the fact that Dawn is annoying. She's an insecure, adolescent brat for a large chunk of Season 5. And whilst this is clearly what the writers were going for, they often overstepped the mark. Indeed, Dawn is often nasty to those who want the best for her

Dawn's temperament does improve as time goes on, but her annoying habits still resurface every now and then. In 'Empty Places', she even forces her sister to leave her own house, which is a poor way to treat her after everything she's done over the years.

Yet Dawn's story does have some redeeming moments, especially during her scenes with Buffy. The final episodes in Season 5 and Season 6 are particularly good in this regard, and there are plenty of characters who are much worse than she is.
