8. Falling Asleep While Guarding Oz
Season two of Buffy The Vampire Slayer introduces Daniel ‘Oz’ Osbourne, played by Seth Green, as a new love interest for Willow. Shortly after he and Willow begin dating, Oz is bitten by his young cousin Jordy while babysitting. He then learns that Jordy is a werewolf, and thanks to the bite, now Oz is as well.
Fortunately, this is not as big of an issue as it might seem. Oz is human the majority of the time, only transforming three nights of the month. On those three nights, Oz is kept confined to a cage in the Sunnydale High library, and the Scooby Gang take turns guarding him.
In one episode, Xander shows up for his shift watching Oz and promptly falls asleep. Soon after this, he is woken and harshly scolded by Giles, and the scolding is more than deserved. If Oz were to escape while in werewolf form, anyone he came across would be in grave danger. Anyone harmed wouldn't be Oz's fault, as he is not in control of his actions while a wolf. It would have been Xander's fault, as he was supposed to be watching him.
