Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 15 Iconic Moments That Defined the Series

2. Season 6: Spike and Buffy Kiss

This is a moment that had been hinted at pretty much since the final episode of season 2, but many people never believed we would actually see. It is actually a very interesting journey to observe... how to make Buffy and Spike go from mortal enemies to lovers, and then later, arguably, to being in love with one another. Angel and Buffy were a great couple but you can not deny how much more complex Buffy and Spike really were. This is a must on this list for many reasons. It was the first time the audience couldn't deny that Spike and Buffy were going to become a thing. It started the Buffy and Spike relationship drama that would continue on through, right until the last episode of the show in Season 7, and it was also the final scene in the greatest episode of Buffy of all time, Joss Whedon's musical extravaganza "Once More With Feeling". The impact of this kiss was made all the more powerful because of the episode it closed. This kiss was a controversial character move, and Buffy had to be in a completely heightened emotional state to make this first move. Just moments before she had announced to all her friends in song that although they believed they had resurrected her from a hell dimension, they had in fact pulled her out of heaven. this was exactly the emotional state Buffy needed in order to finally do what had been hinted at for so long and kiss her once mortal enemy. This is one of the most interesting and strangest relationship dynamic ever on TV.

I am an unashamed geek who loves everything Marvel, and anything Joss Whedon has ever touched (except for maybe Alien Resurrection and Titan A.E). My current favorite TV shows are Breaking Bad, Family Guy, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, Homeland and Glee. I look forward to debating things with all of you in the future.
