Buffy The Vampire Slayer Cast: Where Are They Now?

11. Amber Benson (Tara Maclay)

Tara Buffy
Mutant Enemy Productions

Tara Maclay had one of the show's most sudden and horrible deaths, and Amber Benson was only cast as a main character for the very episode in which she was killed off.

In 2002, whilst she was still on Buffy, Benson co-wrote the movie The Theory of Leisure Class and directed, produced and starred in the 2002 drama Chance, opposite her Buffy co-star James Marsters and Angel star Andy Hallett.

She has roles in a large number of crime and horror movies, from The Killing Jar (2010) to House of Demons (2018), and has secured some guest/recurring roles in other TV shows, including Cold Case, Supernatural, Grey's Anatomy, and Ringer (with Sarah Michelle Gellar).

Benson also branched out into comic books when Buffy came to an end, writing two comics in a Willow & Tara series for Dark Horse Comics, and completing two series of novels between 2004 and 2013 - The Ghosts of Albion Series (with co-writer Christopher Golden) and her Calliope Reaper-Jones Series.

Proving to be a multi-talented artist, Benson has had a great, multi-media career, and shows no sign of slowing it down.
