The Role: Original vampire-with-a-soul Angel, and occasion soulless villain Angelus, for the first three seasons, and coming back a couple of times after that. Angel was the one Buffy was supposed to be with. Sorry, Spike fans. 

Where Is He Now? He left Buffy and went straight into his own spin-off, Angel, which ran for five seasons and was a darker show than Buffy, but wasn't too far behind in terms of quality. Although he has had a couple of minor roles in film and TV since Angel ended, there's only one of note, although it is an extremely successful one. 

Since 2005 he has starred as Seeley Booth, one of the leading characters in the crime procedural Bones alongside Emily Deschanel. So far it has ran for 10 seasons and 221 episodes, with season 11 just around the corner, meaning he has played that role more than the one that made him famous. 

He'll always be Angel to us though (and by the looks of things, he really is a vampire).
