Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Every Major Relationship Ranked Worst To Best

8. Xander & Cordelia

Xander and Cordelia's relationship was a complicated one to say the least, and perhaps the show's best example of hormonal teenage romance. Initially hostile to each other, in season two they grew close and entered into a serious relationship in season three.

Together, they were very likable, and through Xander Cordelia was able to get more time to shine, shedding her mean girl persona and becoming a full fledged member of the Scooby Gang in the process.

Unfortunately, their relationship was not meant to be. Xander kissed Willow in the mid-point of the third season, and Cordelia broke up with him. From there, they slipped into old habits of personal attacks before briefly reconciling as friends during prom.

A short but sweet relationship, Xander and Cordelia were a blast to watch, and one of the Buffy franchise's biggest failings will forever be the fact that Xander never got to see how much Cordy had changed whilst working with Angel in Los Angeles.
