Casting HBO's Green Lantern Corps

Euron Greyjoy, not a character that many would compare to a superhero.

Yet, with the performance that Pilou Asbæk gave, it almost now seems silly not to. The actor injected a major amount of personality into Greyjoy, provided him with an arrogant charisma and top notch facial hair that makes the choice to cast him as a superhero quite a simple one.

Out of all the Green Lanterns, Guy Gardener is probably the most headstrong and... self-loving - this is similar to the aforementioned 'arrogant charisma' that was displayed in Euron. Both of these characters made this part of their personality something amusing too, lending further weight to the idea that Asbæk should be given this role.

The other reason that the actor would be superb as Gardener is that he once sported red hair and mutton chops that look eerliy similar to the GL's red lantern days, meaning that with some styling Asbæk could look the spitting image of the character while giving an excellent performance.
