Casting HBO's Justice League Dark

3. Swamp Thing - Clancy Brown

Daniel Craig John Constantine
DC Comics/Quantic Dream

If DC doesn't do the sensible thing and fold the DC Universe Swamp Thing into their HBO-verse, then Clancy Brown would make for a terrific replacement.

The actor is no stranger to the superhero arena - having voiced Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok, played Frank Castle's old CO in The Punisher, not to mention having voiced the fan-favourite version of Lex Luthor from Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited. Across these roles and more, Brown has demonstrated his voice talent, the element that is arguably the most important when it comes to a character like Swamp Thing, who could be entirely computer-generated.

If DC opt for the practical route that they have done previously with the character, then Brown is no stranger to prosthetics, as seen in The Mandalorian. If a full-body Swamp Thing costume would be too much of a step-up though, then they can just have someone else in the suit and add Brown's dialogue in post.
