Castlevania Final Season Review: 6 Ups And 3 Downs

1. Up: A Worthwhile Ending

Castlevania Alucard Trevor Sypha Season 4
Netflix

For a lot of people, four seasons may be too few for a show of this quality but being able to go out on a high is a privilege not afforded to all shows. With a slightly uneven first season (which was due to the reduced episode count), Castlevania should be proud to have gone on and released three fantastic seasons that cement the show as the best videogame adaptation out there.

Season Four is true to its characters, ups the stakes, and brings everything together in a conclusory way the feels complete. It may be a little too neat and tidy for some viewers, with nothing left to the imagination but, ambiguity wasn't needed here and the story deserved a definitive end.

It can also be seen as slightly too sentimental in places, especially for a show that ended one of its seasons with the revelation that an ally of our heroes was a sadistic child murderer. Regardless, this ending just felt right when looking at everything that came before and brings the story of Alucard, Sypha and Trevor Belmont to a close for good.
