1. The Violence

Why we're all here in the first place to be quite honest. As one of the bloodiest animated shows in recent memory, fans can expect the gore to be taken up a notch in the second season.

The trailer was released in the late July and it didn't disappoint. In the 108 seconds of footage, we saw a Country ravaged by Dracula and our trio fighting to end the bloodshed. It also featured looks at Dracula's and his generals waging war, a flashback to the burning of Lisa Tepes and other incredible displays of brutality.

Don't judge yourself too harshly for indulging in the violence. The barbarity is an important narrative element of the show. Instead of empty gore for the sake of gore that we often see, it is used as a means to create the sense of dystopia and hopelessness the show's story arch largely depends upon.

The religious influence cannot be overlooked here either. Religious doctrine are often filled with violence for reasons ranging from proving one's faith to the exhibition of sin. Dracula's campaign could almost be seen as a more malicious take on Noah's flood, cleansing the Earth of its' evils.

If the trailer is any indication, the second season should be filled to the brim with action sequences that satisfy our blood lust.
