The Charlie Sheen/Chuck Lorre Debacle: How It Ended For Everyone

Angus T. Jones

37 Here was another easy work day for media sites. Angus T. Jones played Jake Harper, idiot son from the very first episode until today, starting his job at just 10 years old. In late 2012, Jones converted to the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and conducted numerous interviews with the church. These interviews lead to more hilarity for the viewer of the Two And A Half Men legacy, which at this point is just one huge laughable media spectacle. Jones claimed himself to be a "paid hypocrite" due to his newfound religion's conflicting views with the currently terrible show that he was starring in. Aside from insulting himself (?), he also insulted the show itself, calling it "filth." How did that cause controversy? It's entirely true. He also decided that he was sick of even being a part of it due to these beliefs. Speculation was also made that he was being unfairly influenced by his peers at the Church. Another speculation was that this was just an excuse to leave the show, since before "the change" he had appeared in all but one episode, and season nine had a very limited role for Jones (one episode just required him to walk in, look around and say "Dad?" Congratulations kid, here's your $300,000!) Half-expecting the show to end, the season 9 finale involved Jake Harper signing up to the army, with flashbacks and an entirely present cast to boot. Sadly, the show continued on, with Jones only making 14 appearances in the 23 episode season, albeit, with more focus on his character when he was actually present. As of season 11, Jones is M.I.A, and isn't even a main character anymore. Considering that he hasn't appeared outside of his Jake Harper role since a Hannah Montana appearance in 2010, I think it's fair to say that unless Jones is moving on to more qualitative things, then his career has most definitely taken a hit. But then again, it's hard enough for a child actor to continue his stardom through to adulthood, even those who appear in good movies or TV shows.
