Cobra Kai Season 3: 10 Bold Predictions

9. Tory's lineage explained

Tory's poisoning of Miguel's mind injected a sense of familiarity to a show that does so well drawing inspiration from the past. Like Terry Silver to Daniel in Part III, her presence as the devil on Miguel's shoulder skews the series' ultimate lawful good character towards villainous and hurtful deeds.

Sam's relationship with Miguel is in tatters as we enter season 3, and though the rekindling of their friendship may be explored, that surely doesn't mean Tory is destined for the sidelines.

Her aggressive demeanour and limited likeable traits mimic characters of old like bad boy Mike Barnes and the overbearing John Kreese. She's too much of a fan favourite to write off the show, so some insight into her background may be given in the upcoming season.

Handing Hawk's backstory in such a tragic but tasteful way wonderfully demonstrates that the showrunners know how to appeal to emotion even when fleshing out the most unlikable of characters, and the same treatment for Tory would provide development for a character who's sole purpose in season two was to be a bad influence.

Who knows, maybe her origins involve characters we already know?
