Cobra Kai Season 3: 10 Bold Predictions

8. Ali -Johnny Romance

It was clear in the opening scenes of the 1984 original that Johnny and Ali had unfinished business by the time Daniel muscled his way into the equation. Both from a comfortable middle-class background, their romance felt like a result of happenstance, and so when the Larusso's arrive in the valley --shoddy estate car and all-- Ali's deflection to Daniel leaves her and Johnny's story largely unfinished.

Johnny's side of the story was explained in season 1, painting Daniel in a somewhat negative light, and Lawrence's hesitation to get into contact with Ali shows he's not over the romance that concluded some 34 years earlier.

Ali has clearly moved on from the valley, relocating to Denver, Colorado and attending med school. She's undeniably out of Johnny's league (as was also highlighted in the 1984 original picture), and the imbalance of social class today between the two will surely provide some fantastic dialogue should Elizabeth Shue return, but re-igniting an old flame with the series' lead would further add a layer of complexity to the drama already unfolding.

Johnny being pulled to the light is an essential narrative thread for the series, why not tie up a 36 year-old loose end in the process?
