Legends of Tomorrow is shaking up its roster of time-travelling heroes for its second season, and introducing a big superteam from the comics. While the eyes of the world were on Saturday's Justice League announcement, Legends revealed that the Justice Society would be coming to the show.

The Justice Society of America will be comprised of Hourman (Patrick J. Adams), Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), Citizen Steel (Nick Zano), Obsidian, Stargirl, and Dr. Mid-Nite (none of whom have been cast as yet).

Of course, any good set of heroes needs a villain, and a few recognisable faces are going to be causing trouble in Season 2: Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller). Of the decision, executive producer Marc Guggenheim said:

"For Season 2 of Legends, we decided that the perfect antagonist for TV’s first-ever team of Super Heroes would be TV’s first-ever team of Super-Villains, recruited from the ranks of Arrow and The Flash’s deadliest adversaries. Being huge fans of the Challenge of the Superfriends, we’ve come to call this group our ‘Legion of Doom.’”
