Ian Duncan is a Psychology professor at Greendale who has a more than occasional love affair with alcohol. During his initial stint with law, Jeff Winger represented Duncan in court after he got in trouble for trying to order a chalupa through an emergency call box on a highway. Duncan's reputation has been established through his famous "Duncan Principle," a theory that suggests that the longer a subject is made to wait the more exaggerated his or her tantrum will be. To his dismay, Abed Nadir shattered the Duncan Principle with his inexhaustible patience and his aneurotypical personality. This versatile faculty member also briefly taught Anthropology after the forced sabbatical of the previously mentioned June Bauer. The fact that he had no clue what the field actually was didn't stop him from assuming the duties. "So...what is Anthropology? Seriously, does anyone know?"
