Buzz Hickey became well-known at Greendale Community College when Jeff Winger joined the faculty during the fifth season. He showed Jeff the ropes and taught him how to deal with bullies like the elderly student Leonard. As a criminology professor he made best use of his talents when he lead his students to search for clues in the study room during the carnage of the A** Crack Bandit. Annie found a note taunting the Dean in a teddy bear during that sweep. The ACB was tragically never caught even though the school's official stance was that Alex "Star-Burns" Osbourne was the culprit. Even though the gruff teacher was known for his intimidating presence and his love of drawing ducks, his most memorable moment was by joining a game of Dungeons & Dragons with the study group in an attempt to bond with his son. His short time in the spotlight at Greendale was more than enough to make him one of the school's best teachers.
