9. Crying At The Dinner Table Over The Bill
The other aspect of Troy that is often played for jokes is his emotionality. As Abed says in the episode where they are at war:
"it is incredibly easy to make him cry."
This is shown in the episode Critical Film Studies, in which Jeff and Abed have dinner at a fancy restaurant because Abed, unknown to Jeff, wants to act out his own version of the movie My Dinner with Andre.
The emotional Troy joke comes during the end gag of the episode. In the episode, it is established that the restaurant is expensive, as Abed needs Jeff to pay the bill. The end gag has Abed and Troy go back to the restaurant and when they see the bill Troy simply bursts into tears screaming
"They said Market Price. What Market are you shopping at?"
The sight of Troy's only reaction to the bill being tears is simply hilarious. This is aided by Abed suggesting they run, and Troy simply nodding before they do, with both running out of the restaurant without paying.
While Troy's actions are hilarious throughout the episode, notably freaking out that Jeff may have gotten Abed a better gift than him, this ending gag just rounds everything off hilariously.
