Community: 10 Worst Things Abed Has Ever Done

When there is a constant shortage of chicken fingers in the Greendale cafeteria, Jeff decides that the study group should go full Goodfellas with the situation and take control. They knock out Star-Burns as fry cook, implement Abed as the replacement, and immediately have control over the most valuable resource in Greendale: chicken.

Abed instantly becomes enamored with the entire situation because of how much it feels like a mob movie. Almost immediately he takes control of the “family” by making all the big decisions without consulting Jeff, or anyone else in the group. At first it works. He gets the AV team to hook up a gaming system for the study group, a new backpack for Annie, even a monkey for Troy. Everyone is happy with Abed making the decisions and Abed is happy because he finally feels like he understands people and that everything has an order to it.

But when the group becomes - at least in Abed’s mind - spoiled, he goes full nuclear and destroys everything they’ve come to love. He cuts the cables on their new TV, shreds Annie’s backpack, and releases Troy’s monkey just for starters. In a particularly bizarre move, he even takes to seducing Shirley’s new boyfriend with chicken. The same chicken that Shirley was able to attract the man with in the first place.

Jeff does eventually regain control of the situation and even have a conversation with Abed about why he felt the need to take control in the first place. But that little heart-to-heart doesn’t stop the fact that when things stopped going his way rather than talking to his friends, he decided the better choice was to mentally destroy them.
