Community: 15 Best Ever Episodes

14. Season 3 Episode 10 - Regional Holiday Music

Musical episodes can be memorable for a show, but they're only ever enjoyable if there's context behind them. An episode where the cast break into song and dance out of absolutely nowhere can not only be distracting, but appear desperate.

For Community, their musical episode takes aim at two pop culture vessels; the hit show Glee and the cliche of a Christmas Episode in television.

The head of Glee Club needs a new team to take Greendale Community College to "Regionals" and sets his sights on the Study Group as his team. What unfolds is part-sinister, part-hilarious, as each member of the group is slowly indoctrinated into the world of Glee Club.

With each member joining the singing and dancing, comes a completely different song for the characters to sing including Donald Glover AKA Childish Gambino performing an exceptional Christmas rap.

Shirley's love of church choir, Annie's cutesy-sexy seduction of Jeff and even Pierce' Baby-Boomer opera all shine in an episode that climaxes in Britta's hilariously awful stage performance as a tone-deaf Christmas Tree.

The episode MVP is Taran Killam's role as Mr. Rad is both hilarious and dark; as he reveals he killed the previous Glee Club on account of their shoddy singing ability.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
