13. Season 2 Episode 23 & 24 - A Fistful Of Paintballs & For A Few Paintballs More
Yes, technically two episodes, but I can't watch one without the other.
The season two finale episodes plunge the Study Group and the rest of Greendale in another paintball fiasco, but this time the stakes have been elevated with a few wildcards thrown into the mix.
The first episode "A Fistful of Paintballs" mimics the paintball concept of the first season, but puts an Old-West spin on matters. Pierce' safe zone for players to rest their weary heads is a nice touch, as as is the introduction of Josh Holloway playing a Man In Black style ringer.
After discovering the paintball match was put together by City College to sabotage Greendale, all the students band together and the Wild West theme is transformed into a Star Ward parody; complete with miscellaneous City College Foot-soldiers and the Dean of City College operating like Darth Vader.
The choreographed action is hilariously entertaining in both episodes, but what really sets this paintball war apart from the others is how the episodes gives the whole cast work a chance to work together instead of against one another.
It's episodes like these that give Community a reason to be called one of the best shows ever made.
