Community: 15 Best Ever Episodes

Season three of community was when the show really leaned into its creativity, and despite being one of the more absurd episodes, "Pillows & Blankets" also slows things down with a Ken Burns-style documentary illustrating a feud between Troy and Abed.

In the previous episode, the two best friends clashed over the growth of their pillow & blanket fort and the episode concluded with a clash of two rivaling societies.

The next episode kicks off with the "battle" still in effect, with skirmishes and assaults boiling down to aggressive pillow fights.

Highlights of the episode include Jeff and Annie's text messages being read out like letters from war, Pierce wearing an Iron Man pillow suit, and Ben Chang recruiting a band of feral kids to form his squad "Changlorious Basterds", who scalp mattress tags as war trophies.

Aside from being a fun way of presenting a school-wide pillow fight, the episode also shines a light on the friendship between Abed and Troy.

In the shows beginning, the social recluse and the closeted nerd (respectively) had a friendship that served for comedy gags. But in this episode, the full weight of their friendship and how fragile it can be at times is really explored.
