Community: Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best
6. Dean Pelton
When you think of Community, it's very likely that one of the first images you conjure up is the extravagant, overly eager and constantly costume changing Dean Pelton. This ludicrous character is synonymous with the show and you'd be hard pressed to forget about him. Jim Rash deserves a ton of praise for the part, but he doesn't entirely match the others.
It's tough to pinpoint when the Dean became a leading character, as he barely appeared in the initial episodes but slowly become a significant presence within season one. Soon, he became known for his delivery of news and episode plots and always sported a wild outfit to boot.
While Pelton was amazing, there were a few drawbacks to him, mainly stemming from two points. The first was that he never felt like a main character, as his position was always in support of the study group rather than the centre of the story.
The next was the fact that his flamboyant personality was very one-note. That one-note may have been very funny - as his love for Jeff and Dalmatian fetish proved - but it meant that he lacked nuance compared to the others.
