4. A Fistfull of Paintballs
No episode of Community utilises its theme better than A Fistful of Paintballs. The episode turns Greendale Community College into the Wild Wild West, with saloons, cowboy costumes, an Ennio Morricone style score, and even an updated Western themed intro.
This episode raises the stakes from the previous paintball episode, with the students playing for a hundred thousand dollars. Additionally, this game follows a secret study group vote as to whether the antagonistic Pierce gets to remain in the group, so tensions within the Greendale 7 are high.
This leads to more intense shootouts and standoffs. Plus, The Black Rider, City College's professional paintball player, makes for one of Community's best one-off villains.
A Fistful of Paintballs doesn't do anything wrong. It's a great Community episode which ends on a cliffhanger reveal that City College has orchestrated the entire paintball game in order to destroy Greendale's campus. The fact that it only ranks fourth on this list doesn't reflect its flaws, but shows just how incredible Community's paintball episodes can be.
