Community: Ranking Every Season From Worst To Best

Much like Season 5, Community Season 6 had a lot working against it going in. For starters, the series was axed by NBC and was picked up by the obscure Yahoo! Screen. The show also had to contend with the departure of another major cast member, with Yvette Nicole Brown's Shirley being absent for the vast majority of the season.

Despite this, however, Season 6 managed to roll with the punches and end up being a genuinely great outing that was arguably Community's funniest since Season 3.

First of all, while the potshots at Season 4 were still present, they weren't nearly as prevalent, nor as distracting as before.

Secondly, while three of the original cast members now being gone was a hard pill to swallow, Season 6 did a much better job at compensating for this than Season 5 did. While no one could ever really replace Troy, Pierce and Shirley, the season did bring in some great new faces.

Keith David's Elroy Patashnik gelled with the other characters much better than Hickey ever was, and Paget Brewster's Frankie Dart helped reshape the main group's dynamic in a meaningful way. This was also helped by Jim Rash's Dean Pelton and Ken Jeong's Ben Chang having their roles upped. (Plus, Brown did still manage to sneak in a pair of cameo appearances.)

By this point, the show had also gotten much, much better at making the shorter seasons work. Season 6 was occupied by numerous funny, heartfelt and expertly-paced episodes, which culminated an an incredibly emotional finale.

Now to cross our fingers and hope the #SixSeasonsAndAMovie prophecy is finally fulfilled.
