Community: Ranking Every Season From Worst To Best
3. Season 1
From the very beginning, it was fairly obvious that Community was a show that was destined for greatness, even if NBC didn't always see it that way.
The series' debut season, which premiered in 2009, introduced audiences to a peerlessly entertaining main cast that could very well be seen as a who's who in the world of comedy. Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Donald Glover, Alison Brie, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown and Chevy Chase seemed like an odd bunch in the beginning, but their chemistry would prove to be undeniable.
Better yet, Community Season 1 also introduced a strong supporting cast to help keep things interesting, including top-level performers like Jim Rash, Ken Jeong and John Oliver.
The cast was still learning to gel and adapt to Community's trademark genre-hopping style, so Season 1 didn't put out a seemingly endless amount of comedic masterpieces in the same way Seasons 2 or 3 did. However, it did find its footing sooner rather than later, resulting in hysterically terrific episodes like Modern Warfare, Comparative Religion and Contemporary American Poultry.
Season 1 also introduced many of Community's long-standing running jokes and themes, making it more integral to the DNA of the show than your average first season. In turn, it's hard not to acknowledge it as being one of the best.
Best Episode: Modern Warfare
Worst Episode: Football, Feminism and You
