Community: The Best Episode From Every Season

5. Season 2: Paradigms of Human Memory

Season 2 of Community may have the most great episodes of any season of the show. Epidemiology, Cooperative Calligraphy, Mixology Certification, Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, and the two part paintball finale, among others, all rank among the series' best half hours. However, Paradigms of Human Memory just barely edges them out.

The episode follows the study group as they reminisce about all the crazy adventures they've had over the course of the past year, cutting to brief clips from these unseen adventures in the style of clip show episodes. However, since these scenes have never before been seen, it doesn't make sense to do a "clip show," which is all part of the joke.

In Paradigms of Human Memory, we briefly see the study group's St. Patrick's Day rafting trip, visit to a Western Town, and many of the Dean's iconic costumes. The fake romantic editing of various scenes between both Jeff and Annie and Pierce and Abed are also some episode's highlights. The episode also reveals that Jeff and Britta have been casually seeing each other throughout the year, much to Annie's dismay, but they decide to break it off. The animated end tag, narrated by the Dean about how he takes revenge on Jeff and the study group for insulting his costumes, is also hilarious.

Paradigms of Human Memory is a great episode, since it teases audiences with so many incredible episodes that we'll never get to see.
