Community: The Worst Episode From Every Season

Basic RV Repair And Palmistry always crops up as the worst episode of season 6. Interestingly a lot of others do, but that’s in part due to Community’s final season not living up to its first three. Despite the somewhat mediocre season, the episode set in an RV seems to top many a worst episode list.

The story follows the study group in newcomer Elroy’s RV with a giant fist strapped to it as they run out of fuel and get stranded. It seems like a classic Community concept, but it’s missing something. Throughout the episode, Abed insists that he can use flashbacks to help aid the story, in usual fourth-wall-breaking Abed fashion.

This idea is good, if not great, but much like the RV, the story runs out of fuel. Whether it’s down to bad dialogue, namely Jeff being TOO short tempered and not like himself, or Abed being TOO full on with his meta self, or even the Dean being TOO stupid, the episode just doesn’t work. It’s not particularly funny, the plot is weak, and it goes on far too long.

A big issue season 6 had was the extended episode length from 22 minutes to 30. This entry particularly suffers from that change.
