7. Series 3 episode 16: Virtual Systems Analysis

Written by Matt Murray BLORGONS FRIENDS Title The One Where Annie Takes a Journey Through Abed€™s Mind Quote of the Week Pierce: Sounds like this has been a game-changing day for all of us€ I almost sat on my balls but, at the last second I made an adjustment. Troy: Good job man Outstanding Character Abed, once again steals the show. It is, after all a trip through his mind. We see his perspective, his thoughts and fears. It helps too that the person being shown them is the wonderful Annie and certain moments of the episode will make you wish Abed were the sort of person that you could 'ship' so you could write lots of mushy fan-fics about the pair. In addition Danny Pudi's impressions of his fellow cast members are so on the money that you almost completely forget that he is not in an actual 'dreamatorium' and makes you wish you could ignore that nagging voice in you head that's saying 'Wow, he's really acting her off the screen.' (poor Alison Brie) Why this Episode is so Good A truly outstanding and unforgettable episode here. Abed and Troy's dreamatorium was such a tantalizing idea when it was first mentioned that you could hardly wait to see it being put into use again and this episode fully pays off the promise. Almost the whole thing is an exploration of Abed's mind that builds the relationship between him and Annie, never allows you to stop laughing and yet the episode is rounded off with such perfect poignancy that you'll just want to watch it again.

Whilst not writing articles for WhatCulture! Stephen can usually be found livin' it up in the city or livin' it down on the couch in front of one of many DVDs. You can tell how many of his friends are in Edinburgh at any given time by measuring how prolific he is on this site.
