Community's Cast - Where Are They Now?

Grizzled actor Jonathan Banks played even more grizzled character Buzz Hickey on the show during Community’s fifth season, then disappeared with no explanation offered. He played a solid role, but didn’t seem to mesh as well with the core cast as hoped.

His argument when Abed ruined his drawings was a good moment, but he felt unnecessarily mean during Abed & Troy’s the floor is lava game. All in all, lifting him out of Community didn’t change much.

Banks has been consistently prolific throughout his career, and that’s continued post Greendale. He’s appeared in Dr Ken with Community’s Ken Jeong, as well as Mudbound, The Incredibles 2, Term Life and The Expanse. Despite Hickey’s prickly attitude towards Abed and geek culture, he’s featured in some video games too; reprising his role in The Incredibles 2 game, as well as in Batman: Arkham Knight and Spyro: Skylanders Academy.

By far his biggest role though has been a continuation of the role he’s best known for: Mike Ehrmantraut. Initially Banks played the character in Breaking Bad, before moving on to a bigger role as Mike in spin off show Better Call Saul.
