Before the first episode even aired, fans learnt that Liv Aberdeen wouldn't be tagging along with the occult detective for very long. At the end of the pilot there's a little tacked-on scene where she departs from the city and, presumably, the show entirely - the reports claim that she'll be replaced by Zed Martin, another character from the comics, and probably that artist seen at the very end of the Constantine pilot. An artist by trade in the comics, too, Zed was recruited by a Christian cult who wanted to bring about the Second Coming, only for it to not really work out. She later returns in the form of a pagan sorceress living on the coast of Scotland who helps takes down a group of Masonic demon-worshippers who have infiltrated the upper echelons of the British government. Which, sadly, given the American setting and shying away from Constantine's political satire roots, probably isn't going to happen. She does look to be a significantly stronger presence than Liv was just as, in the comics, she doesn't wait for Constantine to seek her out and turn her life upside down - she's the one looking for him. This season could really go places...
