Constantine: 17 Easter Eggs And References You Need To See

17. Ravenscar

Viewers are first introduced to the resident Hellblazer in a typically atypical way €“ our hero doesn't appear on screen fighting evil, or rescuing an innocent, or something else appropriately badass. Instead he's down and out, resigned to a mental facility (voluntarily, but that doesn't stop the electro shock therapy looking any less terrifying). Not just any mental facility, either, but one which has special significance for John Constantine in the comics: Ravenscar Secure Facility For the Dangerously Deranged will definitely be appearing again. In the source material John spent three years as a patient there, following his first attempt at an exorcism in 1978 (before the series began). Where TV John gets to check out after six months when he rediscovers his mystical purpose in life, comic book John got chucked out by doctors who were so sick of him they labelled him "cured". Eventually the place got shut down and turned into a casino-cum-hotel which Constantine himself ends up winning the deed to in a bet.
