Constantine: 17 Easter Eggs And References You Need To See

12. The Business Card

Not so much an Easter egg that refers to anything in particular, more a form of cool viral marketing. Constantine€™s business card - "Exorcist, Demonologist, and Master of the Dark Arts" (although he might change the latter to €œDabbler€, at risk of putting on airs) - actually reveals some more cool stuff about the series. See that phone number, (404) 248-7182? You can actually ring it. In fact, it's recommended that you do. You'll be presented with a recorded message by Matt Ryan in-character, and what he says is pretty interesting. Besides some of those classy quips drenched in the dry wit of the Hellblazer, you'll also hear a reference to one Alec Holland. Who is probably better known as Swamp Thing, the creature he was transformed into after a laboratory experiment, who is made of and has mastery over plantlife. It's Swamp Thing's series that Constantine made his first appearance in, so it's possible this little Easter egg is just a shout out to that - or it might be a hint that Dr Holland could be appearing on our screens very soon...
