4. A Unique Spin On An Old Tale

The Arthurian legend has been told and retold throughout the ages, but by the looks of Cursed's first trailer, the upcoming Netflix series could be the most unique variation of them all.

A seemingly personal tale centered on Langford's Nimue, it delves into the magic behind the future Lady of the Lake and how the eradication of her people kick-starts a fateful journey towards wielding the sword she's supposed to deliver to someone else.

It's too early to make any final judgments, but this writer would be lying if he said that it didn't show real potential, especially in the character aspect. No doubt this is Miller's influence as the veteran is no stranger to stripping larger than life environments back to compelling character-driven narratives (The Dark Knight Returns is a masterpiece), and with both him and Wheeler heavily involved in the show, you can rest assured that Cursed will be featuring plenty of that.
