2. The Violence

Cursed isn't telling a pleasant story and the first trailer has absolutely no problem making that clear, as there are flashes of the violence that will ensue throughout the season.

When used correctly, the lack of constraints can enhance a fantasy series because it showcases the violence that awaits those who oppose whatever tyrants rule over the realm, heightening the stakes for the hero that ultimately does.

From the gruesome fates of Nimue's people to Nimue's own sword-slashing revenge, it appears that Cursed won't shy away from the gritty side of medieval battles - and provided it doesn't get too gratuitous - that should benefit it, helping to set it apart from other adaptations of the Merlin/Arthur/Excalibur tale.
