Daredevil: 10 Reasons Jon Bernthal Is Perfect For The Punisher

6. He's Great At Playing A Bad Guy.

Of course, whether you think Punisher is €œwalking a shaky moral line€ or just a flat-out psychopathic bad guy who's essentially a serial killer is a matter of opinion. It's also a matter of who's writing him at any given moment, which creator Gerry Conway inventing him as an out-and-out villain for an issue of The Amazing Spider-Man. His inclusion in Daredevil's second season could easily go in that direction. What with Wilson Fisk being locked up and The Kingpin of crime no longer being in control of Hell's Kitchen, Daredevil needs a new villain to face up against. Positioning The Punisher as the evil version of Matt Murdock would definitely work. Especially when you have Bernthal in the role who, aside from Shane in The Walking Dead, has undoubtedly played some out-and-out villains in his time. Chief among them being Al Capone in Night At The Museum: Battle Of The Smithsonian. Okay, so that's a little less serious than Daredevil, but it shows he can play an iconic bad guy with ease.
