Daredevil: 11 Most Fan-Pleasing Moments From Season 2

4. Matt & Elektra, Back Together

Whilst the series may have continued to experience the same near unanimous critical acclaim its first season did, I was extremely surprised to see such negative reactions towards Elektra's presence in this season. I understand that the mid-season lags in its transition to focusing on The Hand, but this is by no means the fault of ‰lodie Yung, who commands the role of Stick's wayward assassin with grace. In fact, Natchios' presence onscreen was a constant source of entertainment for myself, and her interactions with Murdock in particular formed some of the show's finest sequences. Charlie Cox and Yung's chemistry was of course extremely beneficial to the show's portrayal of their fluctuating relationship, but often the physical manifestations of it - moving beyond the simply carnal - were all that needed to be witnessed to understand that fact. This is demonstrated in numerous fight scenes featuring the two, as the synchronicity of their actions transforms the show's messy and scrappy altercations into ballets involving blunt instruments and throwing stars. Their mutual respect and understanding emanates from both conversation and violence, which again, makes sense considering the explosive origins of their friendship. Murdock's initial hesitance to accept her cooperation was immediately offset by her unrelenting overconfidence to enlist his help, as it is made abundantly clear that, despite his many protests to the contrary, Elektra understands Matthew's isolation. It's an element conveyed from the moment the Yakuza first descend upon Elektra's hotel room, and only gets better as the season reaches its equally absorbing conclusion.
