Daredevil Season 2: 10 Actors Who Could Play Bullseye
7. Iko Uwais
That said, Jaa might be a little reluctant to appear in a show like Daredevil (he almost abandoned his career entirely after a crisis of faith a few years ago). The choreography and filmmaking of the action in Netflix series has less in common with the likes of Ong-Bak, too, and more with the long takes and inventiveness of The Raid. Gareth Evans's slice of Indonesian martial arts mayhem became a cult classic almost overnight, its success at home and abroad meaning a sequel was rushed into production. As much as the premise (cops storm a high-rise run by gangsters) and direction sold the film, star Iko Uwais is what carried it through. Also appearing in Evans's debut Merantau, it's Uwais who manages to both be convincingly intense and three-dimensional in a film which has no right to be so well-drawn whilst also be a formidable physical presence. Snap him up before he makes his first English-language appearance in Stars Wars: The Force Awakens.
